The Younger Years

1. What's Inside Your Child's Head?

Al Friesen will begin with an overview, with some expectations, and then we get right into understanding children’s behaviour and our discipline. What’s “inside your child’s head” will seek to help us understand why our children misbehave, why our children behave well, and why we need to discipline with Firm Fair Friendly Fences.

2. How Emotions Can Trap Us

Al Friesen suggests creative and effective ways as to how parents and other significant adults can help blend the following three, into a well functioning unit called FAMILY: Children, Emotions, and their own way. Al will also seek to demonstrate how parents being good, namely doing many things for the child that the child can do for themselves, may be bad. And thus can help destroy the blending process desired for family building.

4. Do You Really Hear Your Children

Al Friesen suggests creative and effective ways as to how parents and other significant adults can learn to build effective listening skills, and how to show empathy. Namely, learning how to graciously walk in your child’s shoes until you clearly recall what it was like to have feelings like what your child or teen is experiencing right now, as you continue to build a healthy family unit.
